The Candlelight Tavern’s menu is bound to bring back memories of John Belushi for some people. If you watched “Saturday Night Live” in the late ‘70s it was hard to miss his Olympia Café sketch, where the selections were limited to cheeseburgers, chips and Pepsi. At the Candlelight there are six menu items: Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, onion rings, chili and chicken wings. Actually, the chili is seasonal, so it might be safer to say five. In any case, this is a menu for minimalists, and perhaps it’s precisely that limited focus that makes the onion rings so darn addictive. Four flat-screen TVs, foosball tables and pool tables are the main attraction here, and keep an eye out for the Bar Olympics, which take place every October.
