If the Rat Pack had to pick one place in Boulder to eat and drink all night, this would be it. Dagabi Cucina offers authentic Italian fare in a chic but casual environment. From hearty calzones, classic chicken marsala (Pollo Al Marsala) to a medley of seafood on a plate of linguini (Zuppa Di Pesce), this Boulder bistro dishes out fresh, in-house Italian entrées, pizzas and desserts. The martinis are to die for and the tapas are a great option for happy hour.
User Reviews
I heard that Dagabi had a new Spanish chef, so we went to check it out. They revamped their menu and the food is really good. Our server was really nice and took good care of us when we went in for dinner. We were delighted and decided to go back for happy hour, which was also fabulous. Great little unusual hidden neighborhood gem.
The food was not classic, as promised. The service was sloppy, not professional. The drinks were good but service from the bar was slow. Too noisy. Cramped tables. No charm. No warmth. Dusty and musty. This restaurant is not for Italians!
Friends recommended this supposed authentic Italian eatery and I wish I'd ignored them. I found the place to be rather disappointing. The food was so-so and nothing to write home about. Although the service was friendly enough, it wasn't polished and I found the food-dollar value to be way over its worth. On the whole it was a bland experience. Italian food is supposed to be exciting and vibrant. When so many other Italian restaurants in Boulder succeed to make your visit festive and memorable, Dagabi doesn't come close to the mark. It was recommended to us, but with recommendations, one mans party is another mans funeral. In this case this Italian eatery may be out of the mainstream in more ways than one. Give it a miss and go spend your evening at the Med or Mista, or any one of the other Italian restaurants which have more to offer than uncomfortably close tables and so-so food.
